Sunday Marathon to Close Streets Near Crown Heights

The 2024 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon is happening this Sunday going from Brooklyn to Manhattan. Street closures near Crown Heights will affect community residents.

Runners in New York City and beyond are gearing up for the 2024 United Airlines NYC Half happening this Sunday, March 17.

The half marathon starts at 7 a.m. in Brooklyn near the Brooklyn Museum and goes over the Manhattan Bridge and FDR Drive.

Participants will also run through Times Square – the only time streets are closed aside from New Year’s Eve – before racing to the finish line in Central Park.

Here are the Sunday street closures that will affect Crown Heights most directly:

Eastern Parkway from Grand Army Plaza to Bedford Ave – 12:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Eastern Parkway Service Road from Grand Army Plaza to Bedford Ave – 12:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Washington Ave from Eastern Parkway to Empire Blvd. – 12:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Classon Ave from Eastern Parkway to President St. – 12:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Union St. from Classon Ave to Franklin Ave – 12:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

President St from Classon Ave to Franklin Ave – 12:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Carrol St from Washington Ave to Franklin Ave – 12:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Empire St from Flatbush Ave to Bedford Ave – 4:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
