After an Iranian missile destroyed a Chabad school in Gedera and a missile from Gaza damaged the headquarters of the Chabad educational network, the shluchim vow to increase and broaden their activities.
Just this week, on October 7th—the anniversary of last year’s horrific massacre—Hamas terrorists in Gaza fired a barrage of rockets at Central Israel. One rocket landed in Kfar Chabad, injuring two individuals and causing extensive damage to a private residence. The attack occurred perilously close to the national headquarters of Chabad’s Oholei Yosef Yitzchok Lubavitch education network.
Miraculously, dozens of employees who were inside the building made it into the shelter in time, and none were injured, but the building sustained light damage.
This assault comes merely a week after an Iranian missile severely damaged a Chabad school in Gedera. The network had been working feverishly to repair that school when the latest attack occurred.
Despite these repeated attacks, the spirit of the shluchim is defiant. Rabbi Eliyahu Krichevsky, CEO of Reshet Oholei Yosef Yitzchok, stated emphatically, “We are not deterred in the slightest.”
“We’ve been coordinating with the Ministry of Education and the local council. We hope to have the students of Gedera back in their rebuilt classrooms soon, but for that, we need your help,” he said.
The repeated attacks have created an urgent need for funds to repair and reinforce the damaged school building in Gedera, enhance security measures across all Chabad educational facilities, provide psychological support for affected students and staff, and ensure continuity of education during reconstruction periods.
