A lavish banquet evening united over 1,000 mechanchim and celebrated their dedication through the struggles and triumphs of chinuch while raising the next generation.
The magnificent event, produced by Tzva’im Productions, was arranged by Reshet Oholei Yosef Yitzchok, a Chabad network of schools in Eretz Yisroel.
Rabbi Boaz Aharon, who attended the event with over a thousand other educators across the country shared, “It was the first time this event was held on such a scale with incredible attention to detail. It was exciting to meet everyone and to see and feel the appreciation and encouragement received by the educators.”
The event was created to strengthen and inspire educators, but also to show them appreciation, given the challenges chinuch entails. “There is no profession more difficult than education. It’s the most difficult and demanding and often receives the worst treatment, as not all parents are aware of the tremendous investment that teachers invest every day, hour by hour, 24/7,” he shared.
Only other colleagues in the field of education can truly understand the difficulties in this line of work. Coming together, they give each other the necessary chizuk to succeed in the classroom.
Teachers shared how the struggles in education have increased in the last few years due to the prevalence of technology and post-COVID effects. They also voiced concerns about parental authority being at an all-time low and how most of the work is de facto devolved on the members of the educational staff.
Educators shared experiences of parents not trusting their children’s teachers to discipline them in even a minimal way. Today’s children are more sensitive than before and this limits the teacher’s ability to teach effectively.
Such events are like fresh air to the ‘shluchei chinuch,’ allowing them to support, relate and discuss pressing issues in today’s chinuch scene. They left empowered and uplifted to make chinuch even better.
