The shloshim of R’ Yehuda Zev Gottesman, a longtime resident of Montreal, Canada was marked on Wednesday with an evening of inspiration and a chassidishe farbrengen.
R’ Yehuda was born in Eretz Yisroel and raised in Gary, Indiana. At the age of 14, Yehuda came to Montreal to learn in Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim in 5725 and remained there ever since.
For many years, he worked at Beis Rivkah of Montreal and the Montreal Torah Center. He served in many of the communal mosodos including Hatzalah, Chevra Kadisha and Gemilas Chassadim.
For a period of time, he also served as the gabbai for the Yeshiva shul, and later as the president of the ‘R’ Zalman Marasow Shtibel’.
His shloshim was marked on Wednesday night with an evening of inspiration and a chassidishe farbrengen. Paying tribute were Rabbi Yossi Kessler and Reb Mayer Chaikin. A siyum on mishnayos was made by Reb Chaim Treitel.
The special guest speaker at the event was Rabbi Nussy Gurary. Rabbi Gurary and Rabbi Avrohom Glick visited Gary, Indiana on Merkos Shlichus in 1965 and were thus instrumental in Yehuda’s journey in becoming a Chabad Chosid.
