Rabbi Levi Stein, Shliach to Bayside, Wisconsin, and director of the Friendship Circle of Wisconsin, was honored to deliver the invocation prayer at the Wisconsin State Assembly this past Thursday, September 11, at the State Capitol in Madison.
Representative Kenoto introduced Rabbi Stein as the president and CEO of the Friendship Circle of Wisconsin and as someone dedicated to the well-being of all people, regardless of background or faith.
In his remarks, Rabbi Stein commemorated the lives lost on 9/11 and prayed for the nation’s strength, resilience, and healing. He offered a blessing to the members of the State Assembly, noting their role in fulfilling the sheva mitzvos by establishing just laws.
Quoting the Rebbe, he shared that “difference need not lead to division” and that true unity comes from bringing different forces together. To illustrate the impact of simple goodness, he placed a dollar bill in a pushka, stressing how even a small act of kindness can help change the world.
He concluded with a prayer that the Assembly be guided by compassion and responsibility, and for a future of peace among all nations.
