Shliach Rabbi Yossi Vigler of Flatbush and his brother, Dr. Motti Vigler of Tel Aviv, were doing mivtzoim at a Capetown park when a baboon grabbed their tefillin and ran off.

In a quick response, Rabbi Yossi Vigler chased after the monkey who retreated into the foliage. After making some noises, the scared monkey dropped the tefillin bag and allowed them to retrieve it.
