Shaina Welner, a young Lubavitcher teen from Phoenix, Arizona, who inspired thousands around the world to do mitzvos in her merit, passed away on Shabbos after a battle with cancer.

Shaina Welner, a young Lubavitcher teen from Phoenix, Arizona, who inspired thousands around the world to do mitzvos in her merit, passed away on Shabbos, 29 Iyar, 5783.

She had just celebrated her 16th birthday last week, and passed away after a year-long battle with cancer.

Shaina is the daughter of Rabbi Yaakov and Rochel Welner, who founded the Lubavitcher Cheder in Phoenix.

She is survived by her parents, Rabbi Yaakov and Rochel Welner and her siblings Chaya, Leah, Tzippy, Yitzi, and Naomi.

She is also survived by her grandparents Allen and Candy Welner – Scottsdale, Arizona; and Neil and Vivian Bernstein – New York.

The levaya will be held on Sunday in New York, passing by 770 at 2 pm, and continuing in Arizona.
