“Shabbos Tzuzamen” to Take Place in Over 100 Locations

With Shabbos Tzuzamen just a few weeks away, the over 100 locations where the global community of young Shluchim will meet in person have been announced.

Already at a young age, Yaldei hashluchim are cast into a leadership role, helping their parents and living as a role model to other kids in their local community. The third annual Shabbos Tzuzamen will enable them to spend a weekend in the company of like-minded Yaldei Hashluchim in the area. The competitions, activities, and farbrengens bring the group together and enrich the children with a sense of belonging to a greater mission.

“My son Mendel got in the car and said, “That was a Geshmake Shabbos!” Rabbi Yossi Brackman, a shliach in Hyde Park, Chicago, IL, recounted after last year’s Shabbos Tzuzamen, “As a kid who never gets to hang out or daven with kids on Shabbos, this was a fantastic opportunity, leaving him with renewed pride of growing up on Shlichus.”

Individual shabbatons range in attendance from 20+ kids to just a small handful, and all receive resources carefully curated by the staff at Merkos 302 to assist the parents and counselors in creating a vibrant community atmosphere. Over 70 teams of counselors have been arranged for any Shabbaton with ten or more attendees. The climax of the program is a virtual Melaveh Malka uniting all the individual locations in one grand celebration of Shlichus, sending the kids back home with enthusiasm.

“The simultaneous Shabbatons around the world are an unforgettable experience even if you are being joined by only one other Shluchim family,” Rabbi Dudi Ashkenazi, Shabbos Tzuzamen coordinator at Merkos 302, explains. “A young shliach is never too remote to be a part of the global community of Shluchim, and we’re here to reinforce that.”
