Sefer the Rebbe Wanted Affordable is Headed to 4th Printing

A sefer that the Rebbe requested should be sold below cost price to make it affordable for all yeshiva students, is now heading to print for the fourth time and it needs your help.

Authored by Rabbi Moshe Wiener, the sefer Hadras Ponim Zokon is an encyclopedic work of over 1000 pages on cutting and growth of the beard in Halacha, and is the result of over 30 years of research.

Recently, the Rebbe‘s involvement in printing the Sefer has come to light. In a recent issue of Hiskashrus, Rabbi Mordechai Menashe Laufer explored the Rebbe’s detailed involvement in the publication of this unique Sefer. The topic has been explored further on a recent article on Anash.org by Rabbi Yehuda Altein.

“The goal of your sefer is that through reading it, people will be more scrupulous with the prohibition of removing the beard and will realize how critically important it is to grow it,” the Rebbe to the author. “To this end, it is imperative that it actually be published and distributed” (Letter from the Rebbe to the author of sefer Hadras Ponim Zokon, printed in Igros Kodesh, vol. 32, p. 133). “It is customary when printing sefarim such as this to provide a discount to yeshiva students, and to publicize that you are doing so.”

In order to enable the publication of an expanded 4th edition of this celebrated sefer (of approximately 1,150 pages), consider sponsoring a Hakdasha/Dedication in honor/memory of a loved one or a special occasion by clicking here.
