Security Guard Murdered In Ariel Terror Attack

A 23-year-old Jewish security guard was shot to death on Friday night at the entrance to the city of Ariel in the Shomron by two Palestinian terrorists.

The security guard has been named as Vyacheslav (Vladi) Golev, a resident of Beit Shemesh and a former student at Ariel University.

An initial investigation of the attack determined that a vehicle with an Israeli license plate arrived at the post of the security guard of Ariel. Two terrorists then got out of the vehicle, opened fire at the security guard from close range and killed him, before making a U-turn and fleeing the scene.

Magen David Adom paramedics who were called to the scene provided him with medical treatment before pronouncing him dead.

Magen David Adom paramedic Tomer Fein said, “When we arrived at the scene we saw a man in his 20s, unconscious with gunshot wounds, he was not breathing and did not have a pulse. We performed medical operations on him, but he was without signs of life and we had to pronounce him dead.”

A woman was standing next to the security guard who was killed at the security post where the attack took place. She was not injured, but was treated by Magen David Adom paramedics for trauma.

The terrorists were later apprehended in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan, where the Hamas terrorist organization enjoys broad support, the IDF said. They were arrested in two different houses and there is no family connection between them, but the defense establishment fears that they are part of a cell meant to carry out an attack sponsored by one of the major terrorist organizations.
