Hundreds of Shluchim from across the former Soviet Union will convene in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, for a historic Shluchim Kinus the yahrzeit of the Rebbe’s father Harav Levi Yitzchak Shneerson.

The Kinus will open on Chof Av with a visit to the tziyun of Harav Levi Yitzchak. It will be followed by 3 full days of shluchim learning and davening together, and strengthening each other in their shlichus.

In a sign of growing achdus among the Rebbe’s shluchim, the kinus will be hosted by Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen, Head Shliach to Kazakhstan, at the behest of Chief Rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Berel Lazar. Vice-Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky will be attending as well.

This year’s Kinus will be held exactly five years after the last Kinus HaShluchim gathered in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan. When at the conclusion of the European Kinus Hashluchim held that year in Moscow, five hundred shluchim traveled on a five-hour flight from Moscow to Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, to visit the Ohel of the Rebbe’s father on the day of his yahrzeit.

The historic Kinus is made possible thanks to the generosity of philanthropists R’ Avi Shaulson of Miami, Florida.
