In the days leading up to Pesach, the ‘Mitzva Tank’ of Panama traveled around the city to bring a Matza Bakery workshop to hundreds of local children.
Under the direction of Shliach Rabbi Shlomo Nissim Poliwoda, bochurim Ber Chaim Arcusin and Mendel Lapidus led the exciting Shmura Matza workshops in many local schools and communities while adhering to the strictest of safety guidelines.
During the workshops, children learned about the process of baking matza from the first stages in a wheat field, to the final stage of baking it in the oven, and in the process prepared matza with the children.
At the end of each workshop, the children received a Shemura matza that they saved for the night of the Seder.
The successful initiative brought knowledge about the holiday to many Jewish families and households, and increased awareness of Chabad’s activities in the city.
