Last week, a recidivist thief was apprehended for multiple package thefts in the Crown Heights community thanks to the collaboration between Shomrim volunteers and NYPD.

The career criminal is new to the Crown Heights neighborhood but he has still managed to steal scores of packages from Lubavitchers waiting for deliveries. He is said to have a long rap sheet of crimes under his belt and many open warrants against him.

After a string of robberies, Crown Heights Shomrim volunteers finally caught up to him and on Thursday he was arrested outside of 770 Eastern Parkway.

While the man walks around wearing a yarmulka Shomrim believes that he is likely not Jewish.

Shomrim encourages the community to come forward with any knowledge of the individual, “If you see something, say something by calling 911 and 718-774-333.”
