Rabbi Yossi Gruzman, 67, AH

Rabbi Yisroel Yosef Gruzman, who had served on shlichus in Russia and traveled the world raising funds for the Chabad schools in Ashkelon, passed away in Kfar Chabad.

Rabbi Yisroel Yosef Gruzman a”h passed away in Kfar Chabad after a difficult illness on Thursday night, 7 Adar 1.

He was 67 years old.

Rabbi Gruzman was born to his parents, Harav Meir Tzvi (Munkeh) Gruzman, Rosh Yeshiva of the Kfar Chabad yeshiva, and his mother Chaya Tzivia, daughter of the chossid R’ Yisroel Yosef Schneerson.

He and his late wife, Tamar, served on Shlichus for many years, in St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Minsk. In recent years, he lived in Kfar Chabad and traveled the world raising funds for the Chabad schools in Ashkelon.

The funeral took place on Friday in Kfar Chabad.

He is survived by his children: Rabbi Shmuel Gruzman, shliach in Ashkelon; Mrs. Sarah Marzel from Moscow; Mrs. Reizy Kook from Ganei Aviv, Lod; and charedi media personality Mendy Gruzman from Kfar Chabad.

His is also survived by his brothers: Rabbi Yitzchak Gruzman, Rishon LeZion; Rabbi Shmuel Gruzman, Moshav Migdal; Rabbi Sholom Dovber Gruzman, Vienna, Austria; Rabbi Shneur Zalman Gruzman, Tzfas; and Rabbi Moshe Gruzman, Rishon LeZion.
