Rabbi Tzvi Goldschmidt, 58, AH

Rabbi Yechiel Tzvi Goldschmidt, an active member of the Chabad community in Tzfas, Eretz Yisroel, passed away on Shabbos, 7 Teves, after suffering a sudden heart attack.

Rabbi Yechiel Tzvi Goldschmidt, an active member of the Chabad community in Tzfas, Eretz Yisroel, passed away on Shabbos, 7 Teves, 5782.

He was 58 years old, and passed away following a sudden heart attack.

Rabbi Goldschmidt was born to his parents Rabbi Mordechai Yosef Elazar and Esther Goldschmidt sheyichyu in Bnei Brak, where his parents are prominent members of the Chabad community, and his father serves as a maggid shiur in the local Chabad yeshiva. His grandfather was the renowned chossid and mashpia Reb Nachum Goldschmidt a”h.

As a bochur, he studied in Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim in Lod, and in the Central Yeshiva in Kfar Chabad.

After his marriage to his wife Miriam (nee Kaufman) from Kfar Chabad, he settled in the city of Tzfas, where he quickly became a active member of the Chabad community, serving as gabbai of the Chabad shul.

He is survived by his parents Rabbi Mordechai and Esther Goldschmidt, his wife Miriam, and their son Mendy Goldschmidt.

He is also survived by his siblings Rabbi Dovid Goldschmidt – East Flatbush, New York; Rabbi Yitzchak Goldschmidt – Long Island, New York; Rabbi Yaakov Goldschmidt – Kfar Chabad; Rabbi Akiva Goldschmidt – Migdal Haemek; Rabbi Nochum Goldschmidt – Netanya; Mrs. Tzipi Belgovsky, Lod; Mrs. Chedva Brown, Yerushalayim.

His levaya took place tonight, Motzei Shabbos, in Tzfas.
