Rabbi Shimmy Hershkovitz, a young father and devoted shliach to Ofakim, Eretz Yisroel, passed away on Tuesday, 26 Elul, 5783.

He was 27 years old.

Several months ago Shimmy became ill with an aggressive form of cancer. Over the last few weeks, his condition continued to decline. Many around the world performed mitzvos and gave tzdeka in his zchus.

Shimmy was a dedicated shliach of the Rebbe in Ofakim, Eretz Yisroel. In his short lifetime, he opened a new Chabad House in Ofakim, established a day camp for hundreds of kids, opened a branch of Tzivos Hashem, and many other projects.

He is survived by his wife Chana (nee Nisselevitch) and their young child.

He is also survived by his parents Rabbi Yisroel and Sarah Hershkowitz and siblings.

Baruch Dayan Haemes.
