With sadness, we regret to inform you of the passing of Rabbi Dr. Pinchas Doron-Spalter, A”H. He was 86 years old.
Rabbi Professor Dr. Pinchas Doron (Spalter) was born in Lanzut, Poland in 5693/1933 and survived the war as a young child. He served as Professor of Hebraic/Jewish Studies at City University of New York for many years. He was the mechaber of some 18 seforim.
He had a tremendous “koch” in Rashi.
He is survived by his daughters: Ahuva Litke, Gitty, Sarie Doron and Liora Sasson; his sons: Shai Sasson, Yoel Spalter – Melbourne, Sholom Spalter – Brooklyn, Tzvi Yossie Spalter – Brooklyn. He is also survived by his brother, Reb Shmuel Spalter of Florida.
He was predeceased by his son Binyomin.
