Rabbi Dovid (Daniel) Uzan, a longtime Shliach in Paris, France passed away on Shabbos, 4 Adar, 5783.

Rabbi Dovid (Daniel) Uzan, a longtime Shliach in Paris, France passed away on Shabbos, 4 Adar, 5783.

He was 73 years old.

Rabbi Uzan served as a shliach in the French Capital for over 50 years. He was part of what was referred to as ‘the group’, who founded and directed the Chabad Centers under Bais Lubavitch in Paris.

He was an original member of the board of Bais Lubavitch and one of the leaders of the Jewish resurgence in France

He is survived by his wife, Marta Uzan and children, Menachem Mendel, Levi Yitzchok, Shterna Sara, Chana, Devorah, Esther Hadassah, Perla and Menucha Rochel.

The levaya was held today in Paris en route to burial in Eretz Yisroel.

The levaya in Eretz Yisroel will take place on Monday at Shamgar with burial in the Chabad section on Har Hazeisim.
