Friends and family gathered Monday night to mark the Shloshim of Rabbi Avrohom Flint a”h, a dedicated Crown Heights Community activist, who passed away last month.

Aside from his communal activism, R’ Avrohom was known as a tremendous talmid chacham, who would spend his free time learning Torah.

Event speakers included Rabbi Shlomo Zarchi, Rabbi Avrohom Gerlitzky, Rabbi Michoel Seligson, Rabbi Motty Lipskier, Rabbi Baruch Jacobson, Rabbi Levi Baumgarten, Rabbi Shmuel Light and Rabbi Yossi Kamman.

  1. I was around two years in the US & worked locally at an office trying to raise funds from locals for the planned Bais Rivkah Campus. As there was no sign building would ever start, people stopped giving & operation ended. I went into the community council desperate to take any job that would pay my bills & food. Rabbi Flint happened to hear me & asked if I was able to tackle a more professional job than babysitting…. It turned out to be a Manhattan job in an industry that I worked in overseas. I was accepted & for the first time since coming to the US made enough to live on rather than the CH wages I received until then which were barely enough to exist on & made me feel like a 2nd rate person with zero abilities.
