Rabbi Aryeh Laskey, who served as a teacher in Los Angeles for many years, and an active member of the Chabad community in Detroit, passed away Wednesday night, 6 Tishrei, 5781.

Rabbi Aryeh Laskey, who served as a teacher in Los Angeles for many years, and an active member of the Chabad community in Detroit, passed away Wednesday night, 6 Tishrei, 5781.

He was 65 years old.

Rabbi Laskey learned in yeshivos in Morristown and Crown Heights before his marriage and move to California.

In Los Angeles, he served as a beloved teacher for many years and educated hundreds of students.

In recent years, he moved to Detroit, MI, where he was known as an active member in the Chabad community.

He is survived by his wife, Chana and children, Necha Salazar, Boonya Laskey, Dun Laskey, Bayla Laskey, Dovid Laskey, Basheva Laskey, Mendy Laskey, Elka Laskey, and Mushka Laskey, and grandchildren.

  1. Aryeh OH was very involved in Released Time is the 5740’s. He would arrange Chanukah and Purim events which brought a large turnout, hundreds of children. He was a very hard worker, and did it all without airs. He was a pleasant person and prodded many bochurim to help him in his activities with his tmimuskeit. Although I didn’t see him much over the last few years, he will be still be sorely missed.
