R’ Sholom Ber Tarshish, a member of the Chabad community of St. Paul, MN, who was known for his devout davening, passed away on Wednesday, 27 Tammuz.

R’ Sholom Ber Tarshish, a member of the Chabad community of St. Paul, MN, who was known for his devout davening, passed away on Wednesday, 27 Tammuz, 5785. 

He was 86 years old.

As a young child, he merited to see the Frierdiker Rebbe and would occasionally share his memories of that visit. 

A longtime member of the Chabad community in St. Paul, he was known for spending a significant amount of time each day in davening, reciting each word with sincerity and focus.

For many years, he worked as a mashgiach in various kosher meat processing plants.

He is survived by his wife, Tzivia Leah Tarshish, and his brother, R’ Avrohom Tarshish. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters.

The levaya began today in Minneapolis, MN. The levaya will pass by 770 tomorrow, Wednesday, 28 Tammuz / July 24, at approximately 1:30 PM, with interment to follow at the Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens at approximately 2:30 PM.

Tzivia Leah will be sitting Shiva at 1291 President St. from Thursday until Sunday afternoon.

Visiting Hours: 
Friday until 4 pm 
Sunday 9 am – 3 pm (She will return to Minnesota for the remainder of the shivah).
