R’ Moshe Gottlieb, a beloved father and grandfather from Hillside, NJ who previously lived in Crown Heights, passed away on Tuesday night, 17 Cheshvan, 5784.

R’ Moshe Gottlieb, a beloved father and grandfather from Hillside, NJ who previously lived in Crown Heights, passed away on Tuesday night, 17 Cheshvan, 5784.

He was 59 years old.

R’ Moshe was born in Yerushalayim, Eretz Yisroel and after his marriage to Michal Zigelbaum they settled in Crown Heights. Recently, they moved to Hillside, NJ.

R’ Moshe was known as someone who excelled in Ahavas Yisroel toward everyone alike. He always had a positive and cheerful demeanor.

He is survived by his wife, Michal and children, Shiffy Goldstein – Hallandale Beach, FL, Shneur Gottlieb – Crown Heights, Riki Gottlieb – Crown Heights, Dini Shechter – Kingston, PA, Sari Gottlieb – Hillside, NJ and Mendy Gottlieb – Hillside, NJ.

He is also survived by his siblings, Meir Gottlieb – Flatbush, NY, Lieba Shtissel – Ashdod, EY, Chaim Gottlieb – Beitar, EY, Shimon Gottlieb – Crown Heights, Velvel Gottlieb – Yerushalayim, EY Sholom Gottlieb – Nikolayiv, Ukraine, Leah Rabinowitz – Beitar, EY Chanie Donin – Migdal Ha’emek, EY, and Esti Scheiner – Beitar, EY.

The Levaya will take place Thursday, 11 a.m. by Shomrei Hadas, 12 noon by 770 Eastern Parkway, and k’vura at 1 p.m. at Montefiore Cemetery in Queens

Shiva will take place at 237 Marine Terrace, Hillside, NJ 07205.

  1. We just saw him a few weeks ago …. Friendly and lively as ever! Such a good and pleasant person. We are in shock.

  2. I was in Newark with 30 boys going to a summer program overseas. Unfortunately the flight was canceled, and the boys had to return home not knowing when the next flight would be available. Then I get a call from the Gottlieb family saying anyone that doesn’t have a place to stay can stay by us. Giving over their house making sure we were fed and showered. They let us use their garage to store all the suitcases (70+) so before the boys could fly the next day they had to drop by and pick up the suitcases. R’Moshe without a second thought went out and bought 10 pizzas for the boys knowing that they’d be hungry before the flight.

  3. I met reb moshe a few years ago, always freindly with a smile. Irecently discussed with him a personal problem.Imentioned that money was needed, he took out his cc told me take 180.00 this happened when ever he saw me he would approach me discuss the problem and donate 180.00
