R’ Menachem Manish Kirshenbaum, a longtime member of the Chabad community in Yerushalayim and the manager of the Gutnick Halls, passed away on Thursday night, 20 Teves.

He was 80 years old.

R’ Manish was born on 21 Adar, 5705, the youngest son of R’ Avraham Moshe and Bas Sheva Kirshenbaum, descendants of chassidim of the Tzemach Tzedek. As a young boy, he drew close to Chabad through the Yeshivas Erev network founded in Yerushalayim by Rabbi Tuvia Blau and Rabbi Naftali Roth.

After marrying his wife, Nechama, the daughter of R’ Yechezkel Shraga Margolios, he settled in the Mattersdorf neighborhood. He became a fixture of the local Anash community and was a member of the Chabad Choir conducted by Rabbi Yosef Yehuda Marton, performing at events across Eretz Yisroel.

When Colel Chabad established the Gutnick Wedding Hall in Givat Shaul, he was appointed as its manager. For over 30 years, he ran the hall with dedication and warmth, becoming a central figure behind the scenes of countless simchas. He was also known for his deep connection to Meron, traveling to the kever of Rashbi for nearly 70 years and being the first to document the Lag B’Omer festivities on video.

The Levaya took place on Friday, Erev Shabbos Parshas Shemos, leaving from the Shamgar Funeral Home at 11:00 AM to Har Hamenuchos for kevura.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nechama Kirshenbaum, and their children: R’ Avraham Moshe Kirshenbaum, R’ Yechezkel Shraga Shimon Kirshenbaum, Mrs. Chaya Miriam Berger, Mrs. Chasya Wassner, Mrs. Esther Malka Singer, Mrs. Rivka Chefetz, Mrs. Sarah Levy, Mrs. Rachel Srulovich, and Mrs. Chana Tzwebner.

Baruch dayan ho’emes
