R’ Avrohom Plotkin, 73, AH

R’ Avrohom Plotkin, a member of the Chabad community in Los Angeles, passed away on Shabbos.

R’ Avrohom Plotkin, a member of the Chabad community in Los Angeles, passed away on Shabbos, 14 Sivan 5780 after being hospitalized for over two months with coronavirus.

He was 73 years old.

Among the LA community, R’ Avraham was known as a “Baal-shemske Yid,” and as a gentle man whose every action was guided by yiras shamayim and love for others. He worked hard for decades running a small business

Mr. Plotkin fought a ten-week battle with coronavirus and was niftar just days after the wedding of his son, Mendel who is in middle of Sheva Brochos. He leaves behind an almanah and seven children.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Shoshana Plotkin, their children Moshe – New Paltz, NY, Dini Gordon – Albany, NY, Yaakov – Crown Heights, Yosef – S. Jose, CA, Estee Yusevitch – Encino, CA, Chaim – Los Angeles, Mendel – Crown Heights and grandchildren.

The levaya will be held on Sunday at 11:45 by his house, 321 N. Detroit Street and at 12:00 by Levi Yitzchok Shul 356 N. La Brea Avenue. Kevura will be at Mount Olive Cemetery, 7231 Slauson Ave, Commerce.

The Plotkin family, even with their modest means, has always done what they could to help others. During their father’s illness they used up all their resources. A fund has been established by Harav Shimon Raichik and Levi Raichik to help the family. Please donate by clicking here.

    Personally, I didn’t speak with him ever, but I would see him often in levy yitzchok. He was always smiling and was a real chossid. I’m pained to see this. His family should be comforted and only have revealed brachos. Moshiach now!

  4. BDE. He was the most amazing Tzaddik. He has left an amazing wife and children and grandchildren. My husband just met him 9 years ago and always davened together in Rabbi Wolfs shul(Maayon Yisroel). He will sore be missed. Moshiach Now.

    Luminous, kind….a great Chassid and Chabad Yid – we all knew of his incredible Ahavas Yisroel and Hafotzah.
    I was privileged to daven with him , and his Aidelkeit -his smiling face, were a light that shone always!
    He was the BEST!
    May his holy neshama repose in Gan Eden where we know he is being meilitz yosher for your family and Klal Yisroel.
