Professor Talks Legacy of R’ Yisroel Aryeh Leib

A farbrengen was held in 770 on Wednesday night, 13 Iyar, in memory of Rabbi Yisroel Aryeh Leib Schneerson z”l. Prof. Shimon Silman spoke on the legacy of the Rebbe’s brother.

A farbrengen together with a Siyum HaRambam was held in 770 on Wednesday night, 13 Iyar, in memory of Rabbi Yisroel Aryeh Leib Schneerson z”l, younger brother of the Rebbe.

The main speaker was Prof. Shimon Silman who founded the Rabbi Yisroel Aryeh Leib Research Institute. Prof. Silman read a letter written by the Frierdiker Rebbe to R’ Yisroel Aryeh Leib on the occasion of his moving to Liverpool, England to accept a position in the Department of Theoretical Physics.

The Frierdiker Rebbe addressed R’ Yisroel Aryeh Leib with extraordinary titles and gave him a shlichus to carry out at the University, especially with the Jewish students, and to work on translating books of Chassidus.

Prof. Silman also spoke of the war in Ukraine and its role in the Messianic Era, especially the current era of “Swords into Plowshares.”
