With just a few weeks to go, excitement is building for the historic siyum of the 8th Children’s Sefer Torah.
The siyum is being held in record time, with only two years having passed since the last siyum. Thousands of letters are being purchased each day, and 28,674 letters remain to be purchased, as of Tuesday morning.
As by the previous siyumim, the upcoming siyum will be held at the Kosel in Yerushalayim, with the participation of many thousands of chassidim and others from around Eretz Yisroel.
The first coordination meeting to plan for the grand celebration took place this past week at the Kosel, with the planning committee taking a walk-around tour to begin putting the details in place.
Joining were Rabbi Shmuel Greisman, Chairman of the Torah Writing Committee, renowned event producers Meni Lerrer and Yisrael Nabul of “Tzvaim Productions,” representatives from the Office of the Rav Hakotel Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, and the CEO of Tzach in Yerushalayim Rabbi Noam Rot.
Organizers have announced that to help complete the last letters needed before the event, they will be holding a grand raffle for anyone who signs us eight children before Sunday, 20 Tammuz.
To sign people up for a letter have them go directly to KidsTorah.org/buy-a-letter and enter their child’s information.
