A young Shlucha in one of the former Soviet Republics, in her 9th month of pregnancy for her child, has tested positive for Covid-19.
Unlike other Shluchim for whom we were able to arrange MCA (monoclonal antibody) infusion therapy, the current situation requires an immediate medevac airlift to Israel, where she can first be treated for COVID and then monitored for herself and the unborn baby.
Leading this effort is Rabbi Shloimy Peles of Ohr Avner who will be overseeing and coordinating all of the operations in the FSU and in Israel.
Assisted by Rabbi Lazer Avtzon of the Global Jewish Assistance and Relief Network, who is currently quarantined and recovering from a second bout of Covid himself.
The Shlucha is currently in stable condition with the support of oxygen and medications but needs o be airlifted immediately to save her life and that of her unborn child.
The cost of this medical airlift is approximately $60,000. Additionally, the family will require support in Israel for the older children while the Shlucha is hospitalized and using her quarantine and recovery.
Please respond as generously as possible in this mitzvah of Pikuach Nefoshos.
All funds raised will be overseen by representatives of Global Jewish Assistance and Ohr Avner, Rabbi Avrohom Wolf of Odessa, Ukraine and Rabbi Zushe Abelsky of Chabad Lubavitch of Moldova.
