As shiva concluded for Rebbetzin Chave Hecht, her matzeiva was unveiled, paying tribute to her decades in chinuch, and a former camper penned a touching tribute poem.

A Tribute to Rebbetzin Hecht
By Chana (Metzger) Perman
This year, on the 7th of Adar
An auspicious, holy day
A precious soul returned to its maker
Surely the angels did exclaim
“Ninety-five years you were granted
You’ve surpassed all expectations
Your treasure trove overflows with
Yiddishe nachas from four generations”
Every camper of Emunah
A gem in your regal crown
Every mitzvah performed with a smile
Another pearl to enhance your gown
This magnificent tapestry – your life
Woven with threads of beautiful hues
Chava, “eim kol chai”
Igniter of sparks in countless Jews
Devoted “eizer k’negdo” to your husband
Following the Rebbe’s directives to a “T”
With Rabbi and Rebbetzin Hecht
Not in their dictionary – complacency
“When the Rebbe gives you a job, it’s your honor and obligation”
(Don’t ever think of quitting or taking a vacation!)
We’ve been charged with a noble mission
“Be proud, stay strong, stand tall”
Marching orders from Rebbetzin Hecht
The Mommy of us all.

Beautifully written and a very fitting tribute.
Thank you Mrs. Perman!
Wow! Beautifully written chani.
Thanks chani for posting. Everything so true. I also had positive summer experiences in camp, and loved every minute. My daughter enjoyed camp emunah every summer from the age of 8, now living on shlichus with her family. Rebetzin Hecht built generations of shluchos aroundthe world.
