Families of the Bnei Ruven shul in Chicago joined for a community Shabbaton featuring world-renowned speaker and writer Rabbi Shais Taub who engaged and inspired the crowd for the entire Shabbos.

Esteemed educator Rabbi Zalmy Kudan brought his 20 years of experience working with youth to running an exciting children’s program that enthralled the many kids of all ages in attendance.

The event was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel of Chicago-Northbrook and was run by rov Rabbi Baruch and Chanie Hertz and Associate Rabbi Moshe Elya and Chaya Mushka Markowitz. The schedule for the Shabbos included lively meals, farbrengens, shiurim, and quality bonding time for the entire community.

This was a community effort with nearly 300 adults and children in attendance and many contributing their time to help make the Shabbaton such a beautiful, memorable experience.

Students from the Lubavitch Girls High School helped lead the phenomenal children’s program with Rabbi Kudan. Head Shliach Rabbi Meir Shimon Moscowitz walked in on Shabbos afternoon and joined in the farbrengen.

Participants left the Shabbaton feeling uplifted and connected to their community. One community member–Dr. Yigal Yahav, known philanthropist and supporter of Chabad–shared with the organizers, “I really enjoyed the weekend, thank you so very much! I gained an even greater understanding of Chabad and its beauty, and I know how much they must sacrifice for their mission.”
