Ottawa shliach Rabbi Chaim Mendelsohn whose community members took a leading role in supporting the relief efforts organized by the shluchim in Ukraine, traveled to Ukraine to see it up close and participate in it personally.

The group accompanied Rabbi Raphael Rothman, the head of the Jewish Federation, in lighting the famous Chabad menorah in Maidan Square in the heart of Kiev. They then visited members of the Jewish community who had their lives turned upside down by the war.

The group brought along life-saving packages to Jews struggling to make it through the war and met with the Canadian and Israeli Ambassadors.
