For the first time in 25 years, Ohel Chabad Lubavitch will nor be providing food and beds for Shabbos guests, due to the spread of the coronavirus.
Director of Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Abba Refson said that the Ohel will not be closing chas v’shalom but rather limiting Shabbos visitors and only providing food for the Yeshiva bochurim who learn at the Yeshiva by the Ohel.
The decision was made after consultation with rabbonim and medical experts because of the widespread outbreak of coronavirus.
As Anash.org reported, the management of the Ohel requested that visits to the Ohel be shortened, and to limit visits to only davening by the Rebbe‘s Ohel.
The Ohel also took other measures to stop the spread of the virus, with hand sanitizer stations placed in the tents, and the famous ‘Ohel cookies’ replaced for individually wrapped cookies
Those not feeling well, or who live afar, can send names and panim to OhelChabad.org
