With the spread of the Coronavirus among Jewish communities in New York, the management of the Ohel has asked visitors to shorten their visit.

In a message sent by Rabbi Abba Refson he asked that “all those not coming specifically to go to the Ohel refrain from coming at this time.”

Rabbi Refson asked to pass the message on to minyan regulars, requesting that they daven shacharis at other locations and only come to daven by the Rebbe’s ohel.

In another message circulating on social media, the management requested that visitors not come to spend time in the ‘tents’ and only come to daven in the ohel and leave.

Earlier last week, the Ohel took measures to stop the spread of the virus, with hand sanitizer stations placed in the tents, and the famous ‘Ohel cookies’ replaced for individually wrapped cookies
