Nigri Jewish Online School Announces Group of New Staff

As the Nigri Jewish Online School experiences a wave of growth, the Shluchim Office announces a talented group of new staff members who have joined the team to accommodate its expansion.

After a large influx of students during Covid, Nigri Jewish Online School has continued growing in leaps and bounds with many new students, classes and divisions. The school was recently given official accreditation and is rolling out a brand new General Studies program this year. With all the new activity, the school has hired new staff to focus on giving every student the best quality education and online experience.

Mrs. Sheina Oster from Crown Heights, NY will be the new General Studies Director. Mrs. Oster comes with many years of elementary school teaching experience, excellent leadership experience and a good creative mind. She has taught in Bais Rivka and directed camps, afterschool programs and managed other projects. The General Studies program will be running after school hours for students in kindergarten through fifth grade and will be offered two times every day to accommodate students in various US time zones.

Nigri Jewish Online School Hebrew School director Mrs. Noa Truxton from Bellingham, WA has stepped up to take the role of director of Conversational Hebrew. Mrs. Truxton has TESOL certification and experience teaching virtual classes in English to students in Asia. Combining her wisdom with the Online School and language education, she wrote the entire conversational Hebrew curriculum. She will also be our new extracurricular program director. 

Rabbi Yitzchok Jacobs is joining the team from Montreal, Canada as the advisor for the Rebbis in the school. Rabbi Jacobs is a veteran educator with thirteen years of experience teaching various Torah topics to hundreds of students. He uses many online tools and imagery to introduce his students to our rich texts. He is also the director of Chabad of Cote De Liesse which provides Jewish adult education for beginners. 

Mrs. Aviana Dahan from Montreal Canada has been hired as the advisor for the After-School program Morahs. Mrs. Dahan has been teaching at the Nigri Jewish Online School for the last three years, and has written a Jewish history curriculum which highlights empowering lessons our students can learn from Jewish women. She will also be continuing her teaching position in the girls high school class with Morah Bracha Doch

From Germany to Japan, the Nigri Jewish Online School caters to families worldwide who don’t have access to Jewish education or prefer online learning, and offers general studies, Hebrew School, Bar Mitzvah, conversational Hebrew program and custom classes. 

The Nigri Jewish Online School is the sister school of the Nigri Shluchim Online School and is led by Mrs. Chanie Hertzel. Both schools are divisions of the Shluchim Office, under Rabbi Gedalya and Bassie Shemtov
