Rabbi Mendy Sternbach of Lagos, Nigeria will be delivering the Dvar Torah at the Gala Banquet of the Kinus Hashluchim 5782 this Sunday.
Last year, Rabbi Sternbach, his wife Mazal and their family established the 11th Chabad House in sub-Saharan Africa to serve the 450 Jewish residents in the coastal city of Lagos, Africa’s most populous city of 17.5 million and one of its financial hubs.
Rabbi Sternbach also serves as the director of operations for ChabadAid, a humanitarian aid program that serves the needy and impoverished general population throughout Nigeria.
Rabbi Mendy and Mazal Sternbach are celebrating a personal simcha this week, the birth of their son just a few days ago on Tuesday, 20 Cheshvan. Between the birth and the bris, which is scheduled for next Tuesday in France, Rabbi Sternbach will address the thousands of shluchim and guests from around the world, who are looking forward to hearing his words of inspiration from the front lines of shlichus.
Shluchim will also be treated to Lubavitch musical star Shlomo Simcha, who will bring an extra dose of inspiration and joy to the Gala Banquet this year. Guests will sing along with meaningful niggunim, dance to joyous tunes, and celebrate in the spirit of unbridled Ahavas Yisrael.
