In honor of Vov Tishrei, Or Vechom Hahiskashrus presented a newly-released letter and a twenty-dollar check that Rebbetzin Chana sent to Rabbi Leibel Raskin, intended for him to purchase gifts for his children.
Having served the Rebbe’s parents while in Alma-Ata, the Raskin family developed a special relationship with Reb Levi Yitzchok and Rebbetzin Chana. When Rabbi Leibel Raskin, obm, who later became the Shliach of the Rebbe to Morocco, arrived in New York, he was a frequent visitor in Rebbetzin Chana’s home and maintained contact even after moving to Morocco. On certain occasions, Rebbetzin Chana would send him letters and checks, often related to the birth of a child.
In honor of Vov Tishrei, the Yartzeit of Rebbetzin Chana, Or Vechom Hahiskashrus is pleased to present a newly-released letter and a twenty-dollar check that Rebbetzin Chana sent to Rabbi Raskin, intended for him to purchase gifts for his children. Thank you to the Raskin family for sharing the letter.
