A new remake of a classic Chabad niggun by ba’al menagen Rabbi Menachem Amar was dedicated to the memory of mashpia Rabbi Zalman Notik who passed away this week.
A new remake of a classic Chabad niggun by ba’al menagen Rabbi Menachem Amar was dedicated to the memory of mashpia Rabbi Zalman Notik who passed away this week.
The newly remade niggun was presented by the ‘Gaaguim’ Chabad Nigunim channel. The nigun, named “Niggun for Shabbos and Yom Tov” is Nigun 75 in Sefer Niggunim, and was a favorite of the renowned mashpia Rabbi Shlomo Chaim Kesselman.
There are many Chabad niggunin known simply as “Niggun L’Shabbos V’Yom Tov”, and although we do not know the source of some of the niggunim, they are each filled with emotion and feeling.
The new performance of the niggun is dedicated to the memory of the mashpia Rabbi Zalman Notik, a mashpia who influenced thousands around the world, who passed away on Sunday, after fighting the accursed disease in recent years. Rabbi Notik a”h would always try to increase in simcha, and would play niggunei simcha at his farbrengens. It this niggun, one can hear a tenuah of simcha as well.

On the ‘Gaaguim’ YouTube channel one can listen to a series of albums of carefully selected Chabad niggun sung by ba’al menagen Rabbi Menachem Mendel Amar and his sons. Rabbi Amar currently lives in Ashdod and serves as the rabbi of the Chabad community and the Or Menachem Center in the city.
So far the channel has produced four albums Chabad niggunim albums and is currently working on the fifth album.
