New Torah Honors ‘Mekubal of Crown Heights’

The Nimni family celebrated a Siyum and Hachnosas Sefer Torah on Sunday in memory of their father Rabbi Michoel Nimni, a mekubal who learned Kabbala from great Sephardic sages, and opened a shul in Crown Heights at the request of Harav Mordechai Eliyahu.

The Nimni family celebrated a Siyum and Hachnosas Sefer Torah on Sunday in memory of their father Rabbi Michoel Nimni.

Rabbi Nimni was the rov of a shul and beis medrash in Crown Heights, which he opened at the request of Rishon Letzion Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu. He was also a mekubal, who learned Kabbala from the Baba Sali, Harav Mordechai Eliyahu and Harav Yitzchak Kaduri.

Following the writing of the last letters, the Sefer Torah was escorted with music and dancing to Rabbi Nimni’s Shul, on Empire Blvd.
