New Tech Arms Shluchos to Tackle Shidduch Crisis
Tackling the global shidduch crisis with sophisticated new strategies, CYP’s Met@Chabad is presenting two workshops today designed to arm Shluchos with the advanced techniques needed to successfully guide young professionals toward building a Jewish home.
Sometimes it happens after a Shabbos meal, or quietly after a class. A young woman from the community pulls her shlucha aside, and the conversation turns personal: “I want to get married. Can you help me find someone?”
Thursday at the International Kinus Hashluchos, CYP’s Met@Chabad will present two workshops designed to give shluchos the tools to say yes with confidence. The sessions address two critical stages in the journey toward building a Jewish home: preparing for marriage and finding the right match.
“With intermarriage rates on the rise, coupled with a global relationship crisis, shluchos are uniquely positioned to make a difference,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Director of The International Conference of Shluchos. “The young professionals in their communities turn to their Shluchos because they understand their values, their hopes, and their challenges. When we support them with the right tools, they become powerful connectors helping the next generation build Jewish homes.”
The first workshop takes place at 3:00 PM at The Mikvah, 1508 Carroll Street in Brooklyn. Led by Mrs. Dina Rosenfeld, the session offers a live, hands-on guide for teaching and accompanying community members through the mikvah experience. This deeply personal milestone can feel unfamiliar or overwhelming, and the workshop prepares shluchos to walk alongside them with warmth and expertise.
At 4:30 PM, the focus shifts to matchmaking. “Standing There With Them,” presented by Mrs. Tzippy Friedman of San Francisco, takes place at Oholei Torah. The session provides a hands-on approach to helping singles find meaningful matches, covering everything from understanding what young professionals are looking for to practical strategies for making introductions.
The workshop will also introduce shluchos to the Met@Chabad Shluchim Portal, a secure, values-based matchmaking database that has already connected thousands of Jewish singles worldwide. Through the portal, shluchos can search verified profiles, identify compatible matches for their community members, and suggest connections directly through the platform.
“These workshops are about giving shluchos real, actionable tools to make their next match,” said. Dassi Gansburg, Director of Met@Chabad at Merkos 302. “shluchos are already doing this sacred work. Our goal is to support them with training and a global network that makes their efforts even more effective.”
Met@Chabad’s approach combines cutting-edge technology with traditional matchmaking wisdom. The platform’s algorithm, developed with industry experts, matches singles based on shared values, lifestyle, and relationship goals. But the human element remains central: shluchos who know their community members add insight and intuition that no algorithm can replicate.
The initiative has already seen remarkable results. In its largest global virtual dating event, over 10,000 participants logged more than 30,000 dates, with 47% leading to matches. Multiple engagements have emerged from the program, with shluchos networking across cities to make connections that would never have happened otherwise.
For shluchos attending the Kinus, these workshops offer a way to answer the question that so many young women are asking: Can you help me find someone?
Now, more than ever, the answer can be yes.
