Rabbi Mordi and Reizel Wolf (nee Garelik) are the new Shluchim to Swarthmore College, a private liberal arts school in the suburbs of Philadelphia.

Because of the tremendous growth of Tri-Co Chabad, led by Rabbi Eli and Blumie Gurevitz, they entrusted Swarthmore College to the Wolfs to branch out and establish an independent Chabad House servicing its Jewish community.

In the halls of secular academia, Swarthmore College plays a unique role as a high-caliber academic institution. And with 15% of its student population and a substantial percentage of faculty and staff estimated to be Jewish, the Wolfs have high hopes for fostering a flourishing Jewish community.

“We are thrilled by the opportunity to build Swarthmore Chabad, creating an engaging and accessible Jewish community at Swarthmore College,” say Mordi and Reizel. “Considering the college’s unique academic and altruistic environment, we are excited and hope to share the warmth and light of Yiddishkeit and Chassidus with its community. In the words of our Rebbe, “והכוונה פּנימית היא – להפיץ תורת החסידות.””

This project is done with the encouragement of Rabbi Avrohom Shemtov, Head Shliach of Pennsylvania.
