New Shluchim to Lincoln Square, IL

Rabbi Choni and Shaina Hertz (nee Posner) are moving to Lincoln Square, a major neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, to establish the area’s first permanent Chabad presence.

Rabbi Choni and Shaina Hertz (nee Posner) have moved to Lincoln Square, Chicago, IL to establish the neighborhood’s first permanent Chabad presence!

The new Shluchim have been appointed by Rabbi Baruch and Chanie Hertz, Shluchim to the greater Lakeview area, and Rabbi Meir Shimon Moskowitz, Head Shliach to the state of Illinois. Until now,  Rabbi and Mrs. Baruch and Chanie Hertz have been directing activities in greater Lakeview. As the needs of the Jewish community have grown, it has become necessary for there to be dedicated Shluchim to the area.

Lincoln Square has an approximate population of 40,000 with an estimated 1,500 Jews. Although historically German, the Jewish population has been steadily increasing. Known as a “small town in a big city,” Lincoln Square is a growing neighborhood, attracting families and young adults.

The Hertz’s are off to a great start, distributing over a hundred Matzahs to Yidden for Pesach. They are just getting started and are excited to continue growing and meeting the needs of all Jews in Lincoln Square!

They are so grateful for the tremendous support they have received from Shluchim and Anash all over. They are currently making a campaign to be able to further their reach.

Partner with them to help launch the Shlichus.
