New Program Spreads Kindness in Girls’ High Schools

By popular demand, the “Be Nice” program is now available for all girls’ high schools to educate and bring awareness to the power of caring for one another.

The “Be Nice” program was launched last year by Bnos Menachem High School principal Mrs. Rivka Karnowsky in the memory of her son Shmuel Karnowsky A”H. Shmuel was an excellent Talmid; a confident, intelligent yeshiva bochur who was especially known for his middos tovos. He was often heard telling others “Hey, be nice!”; and with these two simple words Shmuel infused so many situations with his innate positivity and genuine kindness. So with his simple yet profound words, the “Be Nice” program was started.

Spearheaded by Sara Fogelman and Sheina Chayo, these two amazingly dedicated students worked tirelessly to create something meaningful and innovative and have decided to take this program to the next level. Although they graduated last year, they have remained “Be Nice Heads” and have made it their shlichus. They are now excited to offer it to all girls’ high schools! In the near future, we hope to have a “Be Nice” program for camps and public schools as well.

The participating schools witness the program’s profound ability to impact a students’ personal journey as well as their interactions with family, friends, and teachers. Kindness has a ripple effect that vibrates through a person, her friends, her school, her community and the world. So together, “Let’s welcome Moshiach with acts of goodness and kindness!”
