A grand seudah and celebration was held at New Haven Yeshiva on Monday to mark the completion of the entire Shas by bochur Mendel Roth, who studied for eight years to reach the milestone.

Mendel, who was raised in Miami, studied in the New Haven Yeshiva as a bochur, and is currently there as a shliach. Over the past 8 years, he has diligently learned Gemara each day consecutively and has recently completed learning through the entire Shas.

To celebrate the siyum, the yeshiva arranged a grand celebration, as befitting for the occasion, and to encourage other bochurim to learn from his example.

The milestone was celebrated in Yeshiva with great pomp, with a festive seuda, beautifully set up, and filled with inspiration.

“Mendel used this opportunity to share in an uncanny relatable fashion his own journey from a typical young bachur entering yeshiva for the first time, and the turning points which have helped him grow, enabling him to reach this milestone,” the Yeshiva’s menahel Rabbi Yosef Lustig told Anash.org.

Several illustrious speakers encouraged the bachurim to set their own goals and shared inspiration, motivation, and practical tips on how to achieve these goals and actualize their own dreams.

Following the siyum, the entire crowd stood up spontaneously and danced the night away in admiration and with a renewed commitment to learning.
