In two weeks’ time, students in Chabad Yeshivos across North America will gather in New York for a Chidon on the subjects of Moshiach and Geulah.

For more than thirty years, ever since the Rebbe called upon all Yidden to greet Moshiach through learning Inyanei Geula Umoshiach, Chassidim, and especially Bochurim would designate time from their busy day to adhere to the Rebbe’s call.

Now in the weeks leading up to Gimmel Tammuz, bochurim in Chabad Yeshivos are learning and memorizing the final 2 chapters in the Rambam, enlightened by the Rebbe’s teachings.

In advance of the international competition, students at New Haven Mesivta headed by Menahel Rabbi Yosef Lustig held their own Chidon among their 11 finalists who determine who will represent them on stage in New York.

Contestants were quizzed on their knowledge of the final two chapters of Rambam by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Kalmanson, Rabbi Avrohom Sternberg, Shliach to New London CT, and Rabbi Zalman Roth, a maggid Shiur in the Yeshiva.

The 1st place winner of the Chidon was awarded a set of Lekkutei Sichos, and the 2nd and 3rd place winners were given a set of Sefer Hasichos of the Rebbe and Frierdiker Rebbe, respectively.
