Known for her clear hashkafa and vibrant vision for Jewish women and girls, Rebbetzin Yehudis Heller taught thousands of students in Beis Rivkah Seminary and beyond. Now, her teachings were printed in a book for all to benefit.
For over two decades, Rebbetzin Yehudis Heller a”h gave girls and women in Crown Heights a sense of purpose and clear vision for life as a Jewish woman. Her Chumash classes at Beis Rivkah Seminary were known for their clarity and practical Hashkafa content. “Morah Heller,” as her students knew her, had the unique ability to distill classic meforshim and Chassidus and extract guidance for life.
Beyond Beis Rivkah, Rebbetzin Heller taught at numerous other seminaries for young women in the New York area – Machon Chana, Sara Schnirer, Puppa, Ger, the Women’s Ivy League program – and lectured before women at community events around the world.
Her Torah classes wove together the classical meforshim and Chassidus to create a breathtaking panorama. She unveiled for her students the deeper meaning of every story in Torah, even those that seemed “disturbing” on a surface level. In every lesson, she demonstrated how Torah is m’lashon hora’ah—intended as a practical guide for life.
