In a nationally televised address, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed that a ground incursion by the IDF is imminent, despite apparent delays in its launch.
While he confirmed that Israel is preparing for a ground operation, he refrained from disclosing specific details regarding when or how it will occur. Furthermore, he did not divulge the full set of considerations guiding these actions.
The Prime Minister reiterated that the timing of the ground incursion was determined unanimously. He emphasized Israel’s commitment to exacting a significant cost from Hamas-ISIS during the forthcoming ground invasion.
Netanyahu says that Israel is currently engaged in a battle for its very existence. He outlined two primary objectives for the incursion: the destruction of Hamas and the safe return of hostages held by the group. He went on to assert that all members of Hamas are now considered “dead men walking.”
Importantly, Netanyahu highlighted that the cabinet’s decisions are being made without political considerations.
Netanyahu also made a plea to Gazan civilians, urging them to relocate to southern Gaza for their safety.
