Marking 50 years since the start of NCFJE Kaporos by Rabbi JJ and Shea Hecht, enabling the community to fulfil this minhag, in addition to subsidized early Kaporos, NCFJE will be offering Kaporos on Erev Yom Kippur for just $10.

Fifty years ago, I had the great privilege of working alongside my father to start bringing Kaporos to Crown Heights and helping to “Keep Minhagim Alive.” Baruch Hashem, that zechus continues until today.

A few years back, recognizing the heavy financial burden that Tishrei brings upon families, I approached generous donors to create a community-wide subsidy for Kaporos. That’s how the $5 pre-Erev YT Kaporos began. Ensuring that every member of our community could participate in this sacred minhag with dignity.

Now, as a 50-year anniversary and with gratitude to Moshe Uri Ben Malka, we are thrilled to share a groundbreaking development:
*Kaporos on Erev Yom Kippur will be available for only $10.
*With Shechita.
