“About 12 years ago, I was walking one Sunday to my store on Lincoln Road when Rabbi Zev Katz approached me and asked me if I was Jewish, I answered yes. He then asked me did you put on tefillin today?
“I grew up frum, and graduated Yeshiva University, but things happened and I haven’t put on tefillin for a couple of years. I wasn’t proud of it but I answered: “Thank you Rabbi, no thanks. I already put them down today” and walked away.
“As I walked away I thought to myself: This is what you do? Here is an opportunity came knocking for you you just shoo it away?” From that day every single day I put on Tefillin.
His message for all Lubavitchers: You are doing good work, don’t just concentrate on the yeses. Even the noes can have a very big impact.
