Mrs. Feiga Gittel Konikov, a matriarch of a Chabad family who had served on Shlichus in Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away on Sunday afternoon, 5 Cheshvan 5783.

Mrs. Feiga Gittel Konikov, a matriarch of a Lubavitch family who had served on Shlichus in Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away on Sunday afternoon, 5 Cheshvan 5783. She was 88 years old, and just a few days away from her 89th birthday.

Faigeh Gittel, fondly known as Bubby Feigy, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren and had a perfect memory for all her family and friend’s birthdays and important milestones. It brought her great joy to buy gifts for her family and friends. She was very sociable and always greeted everyone with warmth and excitement.

She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and moved to United States in her 20’s and was proud when she became an American Citizen. Together with her late husband, Rabbi Moshe Yitzchok Konikov, they served as community leaders in Springfield, Massachusetts, for close to two decades.

She was zoche to have numerous private Yechidus with the Rebbe along with her family. She was also zoche to meet Rebbetzin Chana, the Rebbes mother as well as Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka, the Rebbe’s wife.

Faiga Gittel was predeceased by her husband, Rabbi Moshe Yitzchok Konikov, and her sons Rabbi Yerachmiel Konikov and Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Dovid Konikov.

She is survived by her children, Rabbi Nissin Konikov, Bat Ayin, Israel; Esther Caplan, Crown Heights, New York; and Rabbi Rafe Konikov, Southampton, New York; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, including many who are Shluchim of the Rebbe.

The Levaya will take place, Monday, October 31st, Vov Chesvan. The aron will pass by Bedford Center, 40 Hayward street, Williamsburg at 11:30 am and Lubavitch World Headquarters 770 Eastern Parkway, Crown Heights, at 12:15 pm. Interment will follow at Old Montifiore Cemetery in proximity to the Rebbe’s Ohel – 121-83 Springfield Blvd Queens, NY 11413.

The family will be sitting Shiva at 1263 Carroll Street, Brooklyn, New York.

Shiva will be observed from Monday Early Evening till Sunday Morning.

Davening Times are:
Shachris will be Tuesday Morning till Sunday Morning at 8:00 am
Mincha and Maariv will be Monday Till Thursday at 5:15 pm

Visiting hours, besides the davening hours, will be Tuesday till Thursday 9:00 am till 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm till 9:00 pm. On Friday 9:00 am till 1:00 pm. The Family requests no visitors from 12:00 pm till 3:00 pm.
