Mrs. Chaya Gansburg, a beloved longtime kindergarten teacher at Oholei Torah in Crown Heights, passed away on Thursday, 16 Av, 5783.

Mrs. Chaya Gansburg, a beloved longtime kindergarten teacher at Oholei Torah in Crown Heights, passed away on Thursday, 16 Av, 5783.

She was 76 years old.

Mrs. Gansburg served as a kindergarten teacher at Oholei Torah for decades, and was much beloved by her young students, who called her ‘Morah Chaya.’

She was also involved in the Chevra Kadisha, and used to host a group of women at her home every week who would sew tachrichim, a true chesed shel emes.

She is survived by her children Chanie Nahmani – Monsey, NY; Mendy Gansburg – London, UK; Shaina Smolowitz – Phoenix, Arizona; Yasef Gansburg – Crown Heights; Sorole Weissman – Flatbush, NY; Rivky Gansburg – Boro Park, NY; Miriam Leahle Davidson – Oak Park, Michigan; Shmuel Moshe Gansburg – Crown Heights; Arele Gansburg – Crown Heights.

The levaya will take place on Friday morning, passing 770 at 9:30 am and kevurah at 10:30 am at Montefiore Cemetery.
