The shift means it’s lighter earlier in the morning and darker earlier in the evening. And you’ll enjoy 60 minutes more of sleep between Motzoei Shabbos night and Sunday wake-up.

Daylight saving time returns at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, March 12, 2023 (19 Adar 5783).

Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and most of Arizona don’t observe daylight saving time, so there’s no need to change the clocks in those places.

Many fire departments encourage people to change the batteries in their smoke detectors when they change their clocks because the bi-annual DST change provides a convenient reminder.
